Corn Exchange National Bank

I could not help to notice a Corn Exchange National Bank engraving on the building across from where I had dinner last night.  Following a little search, I found this stock certificate.

Google 3D Warehouse of the Bank:

The New York based bank was founded in 1852 and expanded into Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Nebraska; corn relevant areas for the time and supported their fundamental commodity product exchange.  The history of the bank is full of M&A transactions. The most recent actions were in 1991 where the entity took the name of the Chemical Banking Corporation; only to merge with a J.P Morgan Chase subsidiary, Chase Manhattan Corp in 1996, but functions under the ticker JPM.

An in-depth history of this bank shows how monetary economics has adjusted to trends in civilian society.  Starting as an exchange, fills median to today’s J.P Morgan.
